Dang, these allergic reactions just keep on coming!
Neutrogena‘s Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Cleanser has been making some individuals’ skin itch and swell so badly that in some cases they’ve had to go to the emergency room!
Lori Elizabeth Ens spoke to Buzzfeed about her ordeal, claiming that two days after using the cleanser for the first time, it caused her entire face to become red and inflamed (below).
“I woke up in middle of night and my whole face was swollen and my eyes were swollen shut. I couldn’t recognize my face in the mirror.”
After researching reviews online, Ens found that many other women had had the same experience with the product. On the Consumer Affairs website, there are quite a few negative reviews with many users complaining about burning, redness, severe dryness, and itching caused by the product.
In fact, the negative accounts date back all the way to 2012!
Neutrogena has responded to the complaints asking customers to reach out to them directly with their experiences. They also recommend consumers experiencing these skin problems to contact a doctor right away.
Unlike the class action lawsuit brought against EOS for causing rashes, there has been no legal action taken against Neutrogena as of yet.
Just to be safe, test everything you buy on a small patch of your skin before using it.
